Fast Diet – Eating Tips For Quickest Weight Loss
Fast diet. What exactly does that mean? A fast diet doesn’t necessarily mean you have to gain any weight you lose back again right away, nor does it mean you have to starve yourself for days on end. It also doesn’t mean you have to eat all cabbage soup or grapefruits or whatever else happens to be latest fad in dieting.
Losing weight doesn’t have to be complicated or difficult, and the term “fast diet” is subjective to say the least. For one person, a fast diet may mean they can see modest results in a month whereas for another person a fast diet may mean they see monster results in a WEEK! As a general rule of thumb, a fast diet is generally not very healthy. Remember, it takes years to gain a lot of fat and additional weight, so why do people think you can get rid of it in a fraction of the time?
Most people consume about 2000 calories a day. To lose approximately one pound a week just cut back five hundred calories a day. If you want to lose even more weight either cut back more calories or add in exercise. For the average person a diet of 1200 to 1400 calories per day is safe and healthy. But only your doctor can determine your specific needs, so check with a professional before starting any dieting plan.
Here are some fast diet and quick weight loss tips that will speed anyone’s dieting effort.
Tip #1
Skip the condiments. A lot of condiments add hidden calories, especially the creamy ones. So stay away from butter, mayonnaise and rich salad dressings. Stick with sugar free jelly, mustard and low calorie dressings.
Tip #2
Stay away from the diet soda. Yes, you read that right. Even though it sounds like an urban myth almost all the studies show a link between diet soda and weight gain. The science behind the statistic is complicated, but the restriction stands. Stick with water (the best choice for weight loss), tea and coffee.
Tip #3
Whether you’re ordering out or cooking at home, make your choice, broiled, grilled or roasted. All of these options are much more fast diet friendly. Take our advice and skip the frying for the duration of your weight loss.
Tip #4
When you have a choice always pick whole wheat over white. Using the whole grain adds fiber, which is good news for weight loss. As a side benefit, it’s also a whole lot healthier!
Tip #5
Substitute a salad or fruit for one of your side dishes at lunch and dinner. This works especially well if the side dish you’re replacing is calorie heavy, like French fries or mashed potatoes.
Tip #6
Spread out your calories. One thing that makes us overeat is waiting too long between meals. Eating three small meals with two or three healthy snacks in between is a much better option for part of a fast diet plan. This keeps your blood sugar from dipping, a common cause of overeating at a meal.
Tip #7
Remember, a fast diet is very subjective and needs to be kept in a good PER-spective. Meaning, you CAN lose weight fast, but don’t expect it all to come off too quickly if you still want to maintain your health. Take caution with any fast diet you try, and don’t forget to reward yourself with a non-food treat for good behavior. It sounds silly, but reinforcing good choices in your diet helps everyone stay on track. So splurge on a movie or something special, you deserve it.
