Jenny Craig
If you are all about convenience then Jenny Craig may be what you want to consider. Absolutely no cooking is involved with this program. You don’t have to weigh anything or measure – it’s all prepared for you. They also encourage you to visit a Jenny Craig Center near you, but if that’s not your style you can always join the Jenny Craig at Home plan, which doesn’t require visits to the office.
Once you have been on the plan you are supposed to transition into regular foods again. Nothing but Jenny Craig food allowed on this program. It’s supposed to run around $65 a week but it can go higher than that – as high as $400! The weight loss average after you level out is a pound or two a week.
Nutrisystem
Nutrisystem is also super convenient. No preparing meals either, almost everything is provided for you. All have you have to do is supplement with fresh produce. Add a bagged salad to your meals and you’re all set. The nice thing about this program is weekly counseling (by phone) is included in the plan.
There is plenty of back-up and encouragement with Nutrisystem. The downside is – basically no transition plan. So you need to be disciplined before diving back into eating regular foods. Cost is about $55 a week and they have a plan where you can save more if you get on their shipping schedule. Plus they have a flex plan which skips weekends, so you can cut costs even further.
So who wins the battle? Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem?
