Wu Long tea has been around for centuries.  It has just been in the last few years that it has begun to receive a lot of press.  This is thanks to being featured on Oprah and touted by many health gurus.  While it may seem like yet another health related scam, the reality is that there is some solid science behind many of the health claims surrounding wulong tea.  Let’s look at some ways that wu long tea can benefit your overall health.

Weight Maintenance

You may have seen websites where people made claims that simply by drinking wu long tea they were magically able to drop 30 pounds in just 30 days.  Now, I wish I could tell you that this was true but I am sure you already know that they are grossly exaggerated.  Having said that, there is solid evidence that wu long tea is a fat burner that can help you lose weight and keep it off.

It has already been shown that green tea is a very effective fat burner.  In a Japanese study at the Tokushima School of Medicine, it was shown that wu long tea can burn twice the amount of calories as the same amount of green tea.

Blood Sugar Support

It has been shown that drinking wu long tea can help you maintain your blood sugar levels.  In one study that was reported by Diabetes Care, it was shown that drinking wu long tea can help those that suffer from type two diabetes reduce their glucose levels.

Anti-Aging

Most of us would like to do what we can to battle the signs of aging and it turns out that drinking wu long tea can be a good step.  Wu long tea is loaded with antioxidants which have been scientifically shown to battle the effects of free radicals in our bodies.  Free radicals are responsible for cellular damage in our bodies that leads to degenerative diseases that are caused by aging.
