Treadmill Running Machine Facts: Are They Really Beneficial?
Using a treadmill running machine to improve your health and fitness has it’s pros and cons; in exactly the same way as there are advantages and disadvantages to running in the big outdoors. The important thing is that you get yourself up off the couch and do something. Perhaps the best plan of all is to mix it up, and combine some outdoor running with a little bit of work on the exercise treadmill.
For many people, it is mustering up that initial enthusiasm to get running which is the most difficult part, particularly after a long day at work. Other people are sometimes a little bit self-conscious and worry that people are staring at them as they run. It becomes so easy just to get changed into some shorts, put the sneakers on and get running – if you do this, you can even watch the television while you get in shape.

And of course, you lose the benefits of fresh air and running in nature, which are always exhilarating – if you live in a city, you can still usually find some good, clean air to run in if you go at sun up, before everyone sets off for work in their cars.
So the treadmill is a great facilitator when you want to lose weight and get into shape. Apart from these benefits, and improving your cardiovascular fitness, they offer some specific ones which relate to protecting your knee and ankle joints from injuries. Long runs, if repeated several times a week, on hard concrete surfaces can lead to these types of injury. A treadmill running machine will provide a softer kind of exercise, so you can concentrate on your weight loss or cardio program without the worry of damaging your knees. Remember that the major factor in preventing impact damage is your choice of running shoes, and that you should regularly replace them – at least every 500 miles.
With committed training, using both the parks and roads outside, and a treadmill running machine, you will improve your overall health and vitality and increase your energy levels and sense of general well-being. It is up to you to use the equipment available to you to ensure you keep at it.
